About Us

This committee is made up of volunteers from the five counties in the archdiocese, in addition to members at large, the Committee Chaplain and the Committee Chairperson. We meet approximately three to four times per year.

The Work of the Committee

We provide a communications link between the local Scouting Organizations and the Archdiocese.

We provide Religious Programs training for leaders or interested parents willing to take youth through the programs.

We encourage spiritual growth in Catholic youth by sponsoring retreats, special liturgies, and “Days of Reflection”.

We plan and host an annual Religious Recognition Mass at a local church each year.

We recognize outstanding Catholic adult leadership in the adults who help with our many programs.

We strive to continually improve current religious programming through the use of participant and leader evaluations.

We work with the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry through the National Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire.

We provide opportunities for scholarships for youth to attend NCYC (National Catholic Youth Conference).

We represent the Archdiocese of Philadelphia at the regional meetings of the NCCGSCF.
